There are a few different ways in which you can set up Zuant QR depending on the use case and the type of information that you need to gather.
Here are some examples:
Contactless Lead Capture - Those who prefer not to interact with a sales representative but are still interested in receiving more information can simply scan the Zuant QR and enter their details
Register a Product Interest - Assign QR codes to individual products for targeted lead qualification. Visitors will receive information specific to the product that they have scanned
Signing attendees up for a prize draw/webinar
Check-in and out for an event, symposium or facility
Where will your QR scans be stored?
Before generating a Zuant QR, you will need to establish where the information from your QR code scans will be stored. Depending on your use case, this might be an event form that you have already created, or you may want to create a new form from scratch. You can view the scan data in the Lead Grid of your chosen form and search for the contacts direct in the Zuant app.
Helpful Tips:
1. If you are using multiple QRs or a combination of app/QR forms, make sure that you name your form something that helps you to identify where your QR will be placed or used for so that you can effectively track your leads
2. You can connect a Thank You Email to your QR forms in the same way as a regular event. If your QRs are being used for registering product interest, you can include information/content specific to the product. See our guide on how to set up a Thank You Email for more information
4. Remember, Zuant QR Codes include first name, last name, company, email address and phone number, so make sure you include this in your event form so that the data is stored
3. Leave your QR form/s in draft mode. This prevents confusion for your Standard Users capturing leads on the app as they cannot see draft forms in their event list
You may want to add some QR specific fields into the form to allow you to gather additional information such as the scan location and action. You will need an iPad and access to the Zuant App Form Editor to do this. Please see Step Three for instructions.
Follow the instructions below or click the button to view the PDF version with images
Step One: Creating a Zuant QR
1. Sign into the Zuant Cloud with your Admin credentials and select the ‘QR’ tab. Then, click ‘Create QR Poster’. (If the QR tab is not available, please contact your dedicated CSM).
2. Complete the following fields in the “Create New QR Poster” dialogue box:
Action: The action performed by the visitor as a result of scanning the QR (“Enter”, “Exit” and “RegisterProductInterest”). Populates the field meshAction in the Zuant form
Site Name: The main location at which your QR codes are being scanned, e.g. an event name or a factory location. Populates the field meshSiteName in the Zuant form
Point Name: The location of the QR code within the site, e.g. a specific product at an event. Populates the field meshPointName in the Zuant form
Team Name: The Team Name field is optional and only for use by clients using Zuant Compose. This field links the Zuant QR Code to the Compose platform
Form: The name of the event form where you would like the scans from this specific QR to flow through to
3. Customize your QR Code Poster to suit your brand and messaging:
Logo Image: Click ‘Select Image’ and choose the logo you want display on the QR Code Form. You can upload a new image either via a URL or direct from your desktop.
Logo Specs:
The logo that you upload for a QR code form needs to have an aspect ratio of 3:1
The easiest way to think about this is that any logo needs to be 300px wide and 100px high
This can be done in an app like Pixlr, and may involve adding whitespace as required
Edit HTML Directly: Enable this to edit the Scan Messages as HTML. This allows you more control of the appearance of the Scan Messages on the visitor’s device
Additional Configuration: Please see page 10 for more information on this field
Logo Background Colour: This is the background colour of the header bar behind the logo in the QR Code form
New Scan Message: Enter the message that you would like the visitor to see above the contact fields the first time they scan this QR code
Known Scan Message: Enter the message that a known scan (a visitor who has scanned any Zuant QR before) will see when they scan this QR code. This should act in a similar way to the “Form Filled and Sent” message.
Remember, a visitor only has to enter their details the first time they scan a Zuant QR; their details will be stored on the device as a cookie and auto filled and submitted for any future scans!
Form Filled and Sent Message: Enter the message that the visitor will see after they submit their details against this QR code for the first time
4. You can then print the QR code and display this as a poster at your booth, on flyers or wherever else you like!
Step Two: Adding Zuant QR Fields to a Form
It is important that the following fields are added in your form as this pulls through important data collected when the QR codes are scanned.
1. Sign into the Zuant App with your Admin credentials and sync to 100%. Select the event form you are using for your QR code scans and tap ‘Edit’
2. Once in Edit Mode, you will need to create text field widgets for the QR fields that you’d like to add to the form. In the text field widget/s, add any or all of the following depending on what information you’d like to capture. Remember to enter the field information exactly as it appears below:
Enter in Caption: Site
Enter in DB Fieldname: meshSiteName
This is the main location at which your QR codes are being scanned. So, this could be an event name or a factory name for example.
The data that populates this field is pulled in from the information you enter for this field when creating the QR Code Poster.
Enter in Caption: Point
Enter in DB Fieldname: meshPointName
This is the point where the QR code is placed within the main site. For example, a specific product at a show, or a specific room/piece of equipment at a factory.
The data that populates this field is pulled in from the information you enter for this field when creating the QR Code Poster.ct at a show
Enter in Caption: Activity
Enter in DB Fieldname: meshActivity
The options that can populate this field are “PinPoint Scan” (a QR code was scanned) and “Form submission” (a form was filled out and the submit button was pressed).
This lets you know if all visitors who scanned the QR actually submitted their information, or if any forms were abandoned.
Enter in Caption: Action
Enter in DB Fieldname: meshAction
This is the action performed by the visitor as a result of scanning the QR. The options that can populate this field are “Enter”, “Exit” and “RegisterProductInterest”. Examples include a visitor checking in or out of a seminar or tour, or scanning a QR to get access to specific product info. The data that populates this field is pulled in from the information you enter for this field when creating the QR Code Poster.
View our Form Editing guide for more information on adding a widget.
3. Once the fields have been added, save and exit Edit Mode. The widgets should look like the below. Don’t forget to resync to solidify your changes
TIP: If you are linking your QR code scans to an event form that is also being used for lead capture in the app, you may want to hide these QR fields so that they are not visible in the main form.
Additional Configuration
The "Additional Configuration" field allows a variety of settings to be specified for your QR code. You can add multiple settings to the field at the same time by separating each individual field with commas.
Each setting follows the same format: a name, followed by a value, separated with a colon character - “setting name”:[“value 1”,”value 2”]
Some examples of setting names and values are shown below.
Mandatory Fields Setting
The "mandatoryFields" setting allows you to make one or more fields within the QR form mandatory that do not appear mandatory as default. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk, as seen in the screenshot opposite. In this example, the setting name is mandatoryFields, and the values are firstname and companyname: "mandatoryFields" : ["firstname","companyname"]
Optional Fields Setting
The "optionalFields" setting allows you to make one or more fields within the QR form optional that do not appear optional as default. Optional fields do not have an asterisk.
In this example, the setting name is optionalFields, and the value is mobile:
"optionalFields" : ["mobile"]
Please note: When no Additional Configuration is added, the following fields are all mandatory in the QR form by default: firstname, lastname, companyname and email.
Custom Privacy Statement Setting
Zuant QR posters contain a link to a default privacy statement. If you would like to switch this for your company privacy statement, then you will need to add the Custom Privacy Statement setting. This will direct the visitor to the specified URL upon clicking the Privacy Policy link within the QR code form.
In this example, the setting name is privacyStatementUrl, and the value is https://www.zuant.com/privacy-policy/ - "privacyStatementUrl":"https://www.zuant.com/privacy-policy/"
If all settings above were required for a single QR Poster, then they would all be entered into the same Additional Configuration field, with each setting being separated with a comma. For these examples, the full string that we would paste into the Additional Configuration field would be as follows:
Please note: When no "Additional Configuration" is provided, the firstname, lastname, companyname and email fields are all mandatory. This is therefore the 'default' state of the form, and the "Additional Configuration" settings only need to be specified if this default state needs to be altered.
Redirect to an External URL
Zuant QR codes can be configured to redirect to external URLs following a scan. This is useful if you would like to present a visitor with information about a specific product, or direct them to your website, for example.
Redirects can be configured in the "Known Scan Messages" and/or "Form Filled and Sent Messages" fields. These can be redirects to different URLs if you wish. (Note that "New Scan Messages" will always present the visitor details form and can't be redirected).
1. Within the QR code configuration settings, scroll down and check the ‘Edit HTML Directly’ box
2. To redirect the visitor to your chosen URL after scanning, include a {{z-redirect}} tag followed by the URL within the relevant message text. For example:
3. Once added to both message boxes, click ‘Save Changes’
4. Download the QR code poster and perform a test scan using your phone
