Default Values allow you to auto-populate a response field. This is a really handy feature for many Zuant users. An example being for those who are CRM integrated and would like to push campaign information into Salesforce/Eloqua/Pardot etc. without requiring the show worker to add this detail for every lead captured.
It is possible to add a default value to any response field in your Zuant form. There are a few ways to do this, and methods vary depending on the widget type;
- Textbox, Text Area or Lookup Textbox: Whilst in edit mode, after adding a widget, you can tap on it allowing you to enter the widget settings in the top right hand corner (cog icon). You will then see an option for ‘Default Value:’ to enter details into. Alternatively, you can tap on the widget, head to the 'Control' frame (accessed on the left side bar) and find the default value option at the top of the screen.
- Multiple Choice List/Row, Single Choice List/Row or Grid: Whilst in edit mode, after adding a widget, you can tap on it allowing you to enter the widget settings in the top right hand corner (cog icon). You will then see an option for ‘List Items’ where you will have already input your option values. By selecting the arrow at the end of a listed option, you will see a toggle for ‘On by default:’ allowing you to select which option you would like to switch on by default. For multiple choice widgets you can select any number of options to be selected by default, whereas single choice widgets will allow only one default value.
Top Tip: If you do not wish to have the default value changed by show workers when capturing leads, why not 'Hide' the field from the form. This will free up space on the page, and keep the lead capture process as simple as possible for the team.
